Ian Sharp has affiliations with a number of industry bodies, including the Jewellers Association of Australia.
Diamonds are sourced from affiliated merchants in Belgium, Israel, USA, India and Australia, and we also work closely with suppliers of Argyle-mined diamonds. All diamonds are from reputable companies that are part of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which works to reduce the flow of conflict diamonds.
We also have an affiliation with Arkion Boutique Investments, which sources and sells rare diamonds.
Since 1976, Ian has been providing his clients with high quality service and craftsmanship that lasts a lifetime.
He began his career with the French award-winning jeweller Jean-Pierre Giliberto in the early 1970s. It was during this apprenticeship that Ian's meticulous approach to crafting and designing was realised. Continuing to work with Gilberto, Ian's talents were formerly recognised when he was offered control of Giliberto's Melbourne business following a decision that would see Gilberto relocate to Europe.
For several years afterwards, Ian continued to build his reputation for fine workmanship, and worked with other leading jewellers such as Paul Bram, Cartier, and many others.
In 1976, Ian opened his own jewellery store on Toorak Road, South Yarra, which traded under the name of Bijoux. Immediately, he established a successful business renowned for exceptional quality that to this day, continues to attract new clients who are eager to own one of his individually-designed pieces.
After many successful years, Ian has built a strong reputation for quality and trust that his clients value. While the store name has since changed to Ian Sharp, it remains synonymous with truly beautiful jewellery that is to be cherished forever.
Joshua is a qualified diamond grader and Ian’s son. He has been in the business since 2007, and runs the day to day business operations.
His specialities are diamonds as well as rare coloured diamonds.
